The digital bank is currently in beta, with a select group of users helping to refine it before full launch

National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) has announced plans to launch the country’s first fully digital bank.
Aimed at young people in Kuwait, Weyay was revealed at an inauguration ceremony attended by members of NBK’s board and executive management team, as well as a group of local technology leaders and influencers.
The digital bank is currently in beta, with a select group of users helping to refine it before full launch.
NBK designed Weyay in partnership with its intended user base, with research carried out among 15 to 24 year olds revealing that 80% are looking for tools that help them manage their personal finances.
As a result, Weyay will feature advanced products and services that enable them to better manage their personal finances, save, and grow their savings via investing.
Initial products and services will include a fully digital account and a customisable banking card, as well as the latest security standards, including biometrics.
