The Visa Infinite card is usually available as a credit card, but Zenus Bank is making it available as a debit card, to offer its clients Visa’s purchase protection

Zenus Bank has launched a Visa Infinite debit card.

This means people in 46 countries can now apply remotely for a US bank account online, through the Puerto Rico-based bank.

Zenus is a digital bank that makes US accounts available internationally, without the need to be a US citizen or resident.

The Visa Infinite card is usually available as a credit card, but Zenus is making it available as a debit card, to offer its clients Visa’s purchase protection. Users will receive digital and physical cards.

Mushegh Tovmasyan, who founded the digital bank in 2019, commented: “This gives our clients access to a Visa Infinite debit card with which they can make purchases in over 80m merchant locations in 200 countries with total confidence, security and unique benefits.”

Luis Guerra, country manager of Visa Puerto Rico, added: “There is no doubt that the future of money is digital, and that shift is transforming how the world pays.

“We are thrilled to be working together with Zenus on their international expansion. The launch of this new Visa Infinite card will help accelerate digital inclusion in the region and beyond.”

Jorge Lemus, group country manager of Visa Caribbean and Central America, said: “In the long run, our partnership will allow us to expand our infrastructure for enabling digital payments in the Latin American and Caribbean region.”
