Bolttech has acquired Digital Care, a fellow insurtech company, to expand its presence in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with a focus on the telecommunications industry, in which Digital Care specialises. The financial details of the deal remain undisclosed.

This acquisition will provide bolttech with a broader global footprint, an expanded range of products, increased operational capacity and a more extensive distribution partner network. As a result of this acquisition, bolttech will enter four new markets in the EMEA region, Poland, Croatia, Lithuania and South Africa.

Together, these two insurtech companies will work on developing new servicing, digital and sustainability capabilities. This strategic move aligns with bolttech’s mission to utilise technology to make insurance accessible and inclusive, particularly in emerging markets.

Rob Schimek, the group chief executive officer of bolttech, expressed: “Digital Care’s strong track record of innovation and customer service, combined with their deep expertise in the embedded protection space, makes them an ideal partner for us as we accelerate our growth in EMEA and globally.”

He added: “Together, we will be well-positioned to deliver innovative insurtech solutions to a wider range of partners and customers, and help more people access the protection they need.”

Aleksander Wistuba, chief executive officer of Digital Care, shared his perspective, and said: “We believe that this is a significant growth opportunity for our company. And that we can play an important role in supporting bolttech’s mission to build the world’s leading, technology-enabled ecosystem for protection and insurance.”
