A Winning Run in AI Finance: X Star Technology Takes Three FinTech Week Awards and Four Global Shortlists at the Banking Tech Awards 2026

The Singapore automotive fintech has been recognised across AI, B2B platform, and risk categories at FinTech Week, and shortlisted in four categories at the Banking Tech Awards 2026 in London, a sign of how quickly AI is changing the way vehicles get financed.

X Star Technology, the Singapore-headquartered automotive fintech company, has been named a winner in three categories at the FinTech Week Awards & Expo 2026. The company was recognised for Excellence in AI-Driven Financial Solutions and as a Leading B2B FinTech Platform, for its dealer financing platform Xport, and for Enterprise Risk and Fraud Management, for its underwriting and risk product X Credit.

The wins land at a telling moment for automotive lending. Across much of Southeast Asia, financing a vehicle remains one of the most manual corners of consumer credit: buyers wait while paperwork moves between banks, dealers lose selling time chasing approvals, and lenders receive applications that are slow to assess. As AI moves from pilot projects into daily operations, that friction is where X Star has put its platform to work.

Xport: Turning Finance from a Bottleneck into a Sales Channel

Xport, the platform behind two of the three awards, sits between the three parties in an auto finance deal: dealers, buyers, and financial institutions. At the point of sale, it uses AI to capture customer and vehicle information, check documents in real time, and assemble a complete application in under two minutes, a task that used to take around 20 minutes of forms and follow-up calls. Each application is then matched to the lenders whose criteria it fits and submitted to several of them at once, so approvals that once ran over days can come back while the customer is still in the showroom.

The traction has been quick. Dealers active on Xport have doubled the volume of vehicles they finance, largely by closing deals that previously fell through when financing stalled. Processing time per application has dropped by more than 90 per cent.

X Credit: Real-Time Risk Decisions Built for Lenders

The third award recognises X Credit, X Star’s risk and underwriting engine, in the Enterprise Risk and Fraud Management category. Where Xport handles distribution at the dealer edge, X Credit is the decisioning layer that financial institutions use to judge who to lend to and on what terms. It brings credit scoring, risk-based pricing, and real-time fraud detection together in a single system, returning a full risk decision in under ten seconds.

For lenders, the appeal is speed paired with control. X Credit automates more than 65 per cent of routine risk decisions, freeing teams to concentrate on the cases that genuinely need a human eye. Its fraud models read behaviour rather than fixed rules, reaching up to 98 per cent detection accuracy on suspicious applications. It has also cut the time to update a lending strategy from around 30 days to roughly a day, letting institutions respond to market or fraud shifts far faster than legacy systems allow. The platform is now in use across more than 50 financial institutions in Singapore, Malaysia, and Japan.

Closing the Loop Between Distribution and Risk

Taken together, the two products point to where lending is heading. Distribution and risk, long run as separate systems, are starting to work as a single loop. Cleaner applications produced at the dealer create better inputs for underwriting, and sharper underwriting feeds back into which deals get routed where. For a region where millions of financing decisions are made each year, small gains in speed and accuracy compound quickly, and they widen access for borrowers who were previously hard to assess. Read together, the two products describe a single piece of infrastructure for the full financing journey, from the showroom floor to the credit decision.

From Regional Wins to a Global Shortlist

The FinTech Week results are part of a wider run of recognition. X Star has also been shortlisted at the Banking Tech Awards 2026, run by Informa’s FinTech Futures and held annually since 1999, with winners to be announced at a ceremony in London on 3 December 2026.

The company appears on four shortlists, again for the two products at the centre of its Singapore wins. Xport is a finalist for Best AI Solution in Lending and for Best Digital Solution Provider in LendTech. X Credit is a finalist for Best AI Solution in Risk Decisioning and for Best Digital Solution Provider in LendTech for Credit Intelligence and Decisioning. Chosen from hundreds of entries worldwide, the shortlist places X Star alongside global banks and established software providers, and signals that interest in AI-native auto finance now reaches well beyond its home markets.

Founded in 2023 and headquartered in Singapore, X Star Technology operates across Singapore, Malaysia, and Japan. The FinTech Week Awards & Expo took place in Singapore on 16 and 17 September 2026 under the theme “Finance. Innovation. Future.”, convening founders, investors, regulators, and financial institutions to look at where digital finance goes next. On the evidence of this year’s awards and shortlists, part of that answer is already running in dealerships and lending desks, and drawing notice well beyond the region.
