Money will become digital and artificially intelligent

Pay360 book launch: Intelligent Money by Chris Skinner

Chris Skinner, a business, technology and finance author, launched his latest book, Intelligent Money, at the Pay360 event in London, UK today.

The book centres on how money will soon be embedded, intelligent, invisible and everywhere. It also addresses questions such as who cares about the future of money and why you should.

Skinner, author of more than 20 titles, conveys that as money becomes increasingly digital, it will revolutionise everything. By 2030, Skinner predicts, digital money will make money personal, individualised, secure and able to grow automatically to meet people’s personal goals. It will also manage risk automatically.

“If you want to know what’s next in banking and payments, buy the book,” Skinner said.

Anne Boden, founder and former chief executive officer of Starling Bank said: “For anyone wondering what’s next in the world of finance, this book shines a light on the latest thinking.”

Skinner is a strategist and advisor to the United Nations, the White House, the World Bank and the World Economic Forum.

Commenting on the book, Jason Bates, co-founder of Monzo, said: “Chris Skinner masterfully navigates the complex waters of digital banking.”

Tony Craddock, director general at The Payments Association, added: “The world of Intelligent Money is not utopian. It is not very neat or particularly pretty. But it is customer-led, exciting and optimistic.”

Published by Marshall Cavendish, Intelligent Money is available to buy in Singapore and will be released in the UK by summer 2024.

Pay360 is The Payments Association’s flagship conference, supported by the Department for Business & Trade, with speakers from the likes of Mastercard, Lloyds Group, SWIFT, Visa and PayPal.
