Comviva and Free Senegal collaborate on mobile money platform

The mobiquity Money platform offers improved reporting, flexible pricing and better bulk payment functionality

Free, the second-largest mobile network operator in Senegal, has deployed mobiquity Money from Comviva to enhance its mobile money service.

India-based Comviva’s mobiquity Money, a mobile platform with more than 60 deployments across 45+ countries, will strengthen the Free Money offering for users in Senegal with system capacity, improved performance and enhanced transaction security.

Launched in 2014, Free Money is a leading mobile money platform in Senegal that provides digital financial services such as money transfer, bill payment, merchant payment and mobile credit recharge.

Free is Senegal’s second-largest mobile operator with 4.4 million subscribers. It will migrate Free Money users from its incumbent platform to mobiquity Money, which will allow the consortium-backed Senagalise mobile operator to rapidly add new customers, accelerate transaction growth and launch innovative features.

The mobiquity Money platform also offers improved reporting, flexible pricing and better bulk payment functionality, which will allow Free Money to deliver digital financial services and experience in alignment with its customer needs.

Mamadou Mbengue, chief executive officer at Free Senegal, which formed in 2018 following Teyliom, NJJ and AXIAN’s acquisition of mobile operator Tigo, said, “At Free Money, we are relentlessly working toward democratising the use of digital financial services and enhance the customer experience.”
