Saturn deepens its senior team with the appointment of Gary Abela as enterprise partnerships lead

Saturn, the AI and data platform already powering over 6,500 UK financial advisers, has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of seasoned entrepreneur and former founder of Re:LoA, Gary Abela, as its new enterprise partnerships lead.
Abela brings over two decades of experience spanning financial services, AI innovation, and enterprise software, having previously led global projects with PwC, Boston Consulting Group, and Daimler, before co-founding AI fintech, Re:LoA, which he successfully exited earlier this year.
This strategic hire signals Saturn’s ambition to accelerate enterprise adoption of its platform, having recently expanded with the acquisition of Ateb Suitability (Ateb Insights). The addition of the Ateb team deepens Saturn’s regulatory and compliance offering and marks a shift from being the “disruptive newcomer” to becoming a serious contender for industry-wide transformation.
Gary Abela commented: “The latest FCA consultation on its advice/guidance boundary review shows that too many people are still missing out on financial advice. While targeted support will undoubtedly be useful for some consumers, there’s no substitute for actual financial advice. But if we continue to throw people at the associated admin and compliance work, costs for advice firms will increase even further and we’ll never succeed in closing the advice gap. Technology has to do its part and this is where AI comes in.
“We’re past the novelty phase of AI in financial services. The real question now is: who can build trust at scale while delivering outcomes that change the cost base of the sector? I joined Saturn because it’s one of the few companies that understands the difference between building tech for advisers and building tech with advisers.
“Rather than solving one bottleneck at a time, advisers want an end-to-end solution that removes the pressure across the entire advisory workflow. Saturn’s vision to unify meeting transcription, document intelligence, and compliance automation into a single trusted layer aligns perfectly with where the enterprise market is heading. We’re not chasing gimmicks – we’re building the rails for the future of advice.”
Amal Jolly, chief executive officer and co-founder of Saturn, said: “Gary’s experience has given him a deep understanding of how advisers work at a practical level, which felt instantly complementary to our own commitment to making the lives of advisers and paraplanners simpler and better. Combined with his knowledge of the AI sector and ability to deliver solutions and major projects in this space, Gary will help fast-track our focus and drive here at Saturn.
“Gary is a bold strategic addition to our team at a pivotal time for Saturn. With his appointment, new clients from Ateb’s acquisition already coming on board, and a growing number of advice firms and consolidators evaluating our end-to-end platform, we’re well positioned for a transformative second half of 2025.”
