Green Dot has appointed Dave Harden as its chief technology officer to bolster the company’s drive to become a more “streamlined, efficient and powerful” fintech.

The firm offers an array of financial services such as debit, checking, credit, prepaid and payroll cards, alongside processing services.

Harden will take the reins in overseeing the continuous development and delivery of Green Dot’s technology platform.

A member of Green Dot’s executive team since February 2022, Harden previously served as senior vice president of product development. In this role, he played a pivotal role in overseeing the migration of Green Dot cards to a modern cloud-based card management platform.

Established in 1999, Green Dot has directly served more than 33m customers and millions more through its partner network.

Prior to joining Green Dot, Harden held key leadership roles, including managing director and head of core banking technology transformation at Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, and various technology leadership positions at Bridgewater Associates.

George Gresham, chief executive officer of Green Dot Corporation, hailed Harden as a “proven technology leader and strategist” equipped with the knowledge, skills and instincts crucial for Green Dot’s pivot towards stability and growth.

“I’m excited to strengthen our customer relationships and help lead Green Dot through our next phase of evolution.”

Gresham added: “As the demand for digital banking and embedded finance continues, Green Dot will be well-positioned to serve and enable more consumers, both directly and through our valued partners, and achieve scalable long-term growth.”
