Griffin has appointed Marina Gorey as its new chief people officer

The fintech has hired Marina Gorey to help with its growth strategy, after recently receiving its preliminary UK banking licence

Griffin has appointed Marina Gorey as its new chief people officer.  

Her appointment is part UK-based Griffin’s strategy to scale its “open and transparent culture” and attract top talent. 

Gorey joins Griffin from Lick, where she was also chief people officer. Prior to this, Gorey co-founded kid-tech startup SuperAwesome in 2012, and she was a mentor at Techstars for three years. 

Gorey’s appointment follows the news that the fintech has hired a new chief financial officer and chief risk officer, as part of its growth plans. 

The fintech, founded in 2017, recently received its preliminary banking licence in the UK, allowing it to hold a limited amount of deposits and start to offer payment services.

On her new role, Gorey said: “Griffin is turning heads in a highly competitive industry, demonstrating the fintech community’s appetite for a bank customers can build on.”
