The new investment choices include options in AI, blockchain and sustainability
Moneybox, a UK-based saving and investing app, has doubled the number of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on its platform to meet customer demand.
The 12 new ETFs cover a selection of themes, such as artificial intelligence, carbon transition and blockchain technology. They are available to all Moneybox customers with a Stocks & Shares ISA, Lifetime ISA or General Investment Account.
A recent Moneybox survey found that AI (70%), sustainability (38%) and blockchain technology (23%) are some of the most sought-after investments for 2024.
Some analysts forecast AI alone to grow by twenty times its current market capitalisation of nearly $100bn over the next decade.
The list of new ETFs on Moneybox includes Wisdom Tree artificial intelligence, JP Morgan carbon transition global equity, and UBS global gender equality.
Brian Byrnes, head of personal finance at Moneybox, commented: “At Moneybox we believe in providing access to themes and sectors that align to our customers personal interests and values via lower cost tracker funds.
“These new ETFs will give customers even more choice and flexibility when it comes to building a diversified investment portfolio.”
Byrnes believes thematic investing is a great way to gain exposure to emerging sectors and industries. And while the full potential of these themes may take some time to be realised, their influence stretches to all corners of global financial markets, he said.
Byrnes also noted that with the Paris Agreement’s 2050 deadline approaching, ambitions for a low-carbon economy have never been more of a concern and priority amongst investors.
He said: “Mass adoption of these themes may take time and therefore merits a long-term investment strategy.
“Our customers will now have an opportunity to invest not only in companies that will benefit from these emerging themes, but also the companies responsible for building the technologies required to see them evolve.”
Moneybox currently serves more than one million customers in the UK with its saving, investing and retirement services through its app. The platform recently passed £6bn in assets under administration.
